TASK 3: Denting process of plain weave
1 Take reed in front of the healds. 4 Tie a certain warp yarns together during denting
process.
2 Hold the warp yarn and draw the first end through
the first dent. 5 Likewise tie all the threads of warp yarn.
3 Likewise draw all the threads through the dents in 6 Now pull the warp thread uniformly through the reed
the reed. and attach all the threads in the cloth beam.
TASK 4: Construct twill weave design on graph paper
1 Take a piece of graph paper. 8 Continue this across the entire row.
2 Draw a vertical lines and horizontal lines and make a 9 Continue drawing the diagonal lines in the same
grid. direction.
3 Each square on the paper represents one warp or 10 Repeat the shifting and drawing process for each
weft thread. row until the entire grid is filled with diagonal lines.
4 Decide on the size of the repeat pattern for your (Fig 3)
twill. A common choice is a 2/2 twill, which means
the weave pattern moves over 2 threads in each Fig 3
direction.
5 Start at the bottom left corner of the grid.
6 Draw a diagonal line going from the bottom left
corner of the first square to the top right corner of the
last square. This represents the warp going over the
weft. Fig 1

11 Make sure each line follows the same direction and
spacing to maintain the twill pattern.
12 Once the entire pattern is drawn, color the lines
that represent the over threads for a clearer visual
representation.as shown in Fig 4

7 Move to the next square to the left and draw a
diagonal line in the same direction. (Fig 2)
